If your pharmacy qualification in any country other than Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK or the USA, then, to register as an overseas pharmacist in Australia, you need to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Complete a degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or M.Pharm).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Apply for and be registered with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Pass below exams conducted by the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC).\n

    1. Skills Assessment Outcome – KAPS Exam (Apply for Visa after passing)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Competence Assessment Outcome – CAOP Exam<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Undertake a one-year internship in Australia (supervised practice).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Pass Intern Written Exam & Oral Exam (75% Internship time enable exams appearance).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Register as a Pharmacist with the Australian Pharmacy Council.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Step 1:  The KAPS exam<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      The KAPS (Knowledge Assessment of Pharmaceutical Sciences) exam tests your knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical sciences. Passing it ensures you have the skills and knowledge to practise safely in Australia.  Duration of exam: Minimum 4 hours. There are 2 papers, each with 100 questions.  Cost: AU$2290 – Learn more about exam fees<\/a>.  Eligibility: Ensure you are eligible to sit the exam by applying for an Eligibility Check. Cost: AU$800.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Step 2:  Applying for provisional registration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      When you pass the KAPS exam, you can apply to the Pharmacy Board of Australia (PharmBA) for provisional registration and approval of supervised practice<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Apply for provisional registration by submitting an online application<\/a> with PharmBA.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Identify and arrange your supervised practice setting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Submit PharmBA’s required applications<\/a> to them for approval.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. Wait for approval from PharmBA.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      5. Following approval, enroll in your supervised practice and complete your supervised practice period to be able to apply for general registration as a pharmacist.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
        The average pharmacist gross salary in Australia is $170,911 or an equivalent hourly rate of $82. In addition, they earn an average bonus of $4,239.
