Gulf Pharmacist Licensing Factsheet for Indian Pharmacy Graduates

United Arab Emirates – Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Northern Emirates

Regulators: Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DOH), Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), and Sharjah Health Authority where applicable.

Eligibility for Indian citizens: Indian citizens are not barred by nationality. Eligibility depends on the UAE PQR category, pharmacy qualification, professional registration, experience where required, Good Standing Certificate, primary source verification and passing the relevant assessment. The UAE PQR states that MOHAP, DOH, DHA and Sharjah Health Authority use the Unified Healthcare Professionals Qualification Requirements as the base for assessing documents, education, experience and licensure requirements for healthcare professionals.

Exam / assessment name:

For Dubai: DHA Pharmacist Assessment / DHA Pharmacist CBT through Sheryan process.
For Abu Dhabi: DOH Pharmacist Assessment / DOH exam process.
For MOHAP / Northern Emirates: MOHAP Pharmacist Evaluation / assessment process.

How to apply: The candidate should create a profile in the concerned authority portal, choose Pharmacist as profession, upload qualification, transcript, registration, experience, passport and Good Standing documents, complete Primary Source Verification where required, wait for eligibility / assessment permission, book the assessment through the link shown in the authority account, pass the assessment, and then complete employer-linked licence activation.


Qatar

Regulator: Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP), Ministry of Public Health, Qatar.

Eligibility for Indian citizens: Indian citizens may apply if they satisfy DHP requirements for pharmacist registration and licensing. Eligibility depends on education, registration, experience where prescribed, Primary Source Verification, qualifying examination and employer-linked licence process.

Exam / assessment name: Qatar DHP Pharmacist Qualifying Examination / MOPH-DHP Pharmacist Qualifying Examination.

How to apply: Use the DHP Registration and Licensing System, select Pharmacist category, submit qualification and professional documents, complete Primary Source Verification, obtain qualifying examination approval where applicable, schedule the examination through the official route, pass the examination and complete the employer-linked licensing process.


Bahrain

Regulator: National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), Kingdom of Bahrain.

Eligibility for Indian citizens: Indian citizens may apply if they satisfy NHRA’s qualification, registration, experience, verification and examination / licensing requirements. NHRA assesses credentials, knowledge, clinical skills and professional attributes of health professionals before licensing.

Exam / assessment name: NHRA Pharmacist Licensure Examination / NHRA Pharmacist Licensing Assessment, as displayed in the NHRA / Mehan route.

How to apply: Apply through Mehan or the employer-supported NHRA route, submit degree, transcripts, professional registration, Good Standing Certificate, experience, passport and other required documents, complete credential assessment / verification, obtain exam eligibility if required, complete the licensure exam / assessment and activate licence through employer / facility process.


Oman

Regulator: Ministry of Health, Sultanate of Oman / concerned health professional licensing authority.

Eligibility for Indian citizens: Indian citizens may apply only if they satisfy Oman’s current pharmacist licensing requirements, employer requirements, qualification recognition, experience, assessment and visa rules. The route is often employer-linked.

Exam / assessment name: Oman Pharmacist Licensing Assessment / Oman Prometric Pharmacist Exam is the market terminology commonly used. The exact current exam title and category must be verified from Oman Ministry of Health / employer / authorised test-booking system before payment.


Kuwait

Regulator: Ministry of Health, State of Kuwait / concerned health professional licensing department.

Eligibility for Indian citizens: Indian citizens may apply only if they satisfy Kuwait’s current Ministry / employer licensing requirements, including qualification, experience, verification, assessment and visa conditions. The process is commonly employer-linked.

Exam / assessment name: Kuwait Ministry of Health Pharmacist Licensing Assessment / professional evaluation, as notified by the Ministry / employer at the time of application. Do not use old consultant terminology unless matched with the current official route.

How to apply: Usually through employer sponsorship: complete pharmacy qualification, maintain professional registration and Good Standing Certificate where applicable, obtain employer offer / instruction, submit documents through the employer / Ministry route, complete assessment if required, and finalise licence and visa process.


Common Information for Gulf Countries

Exam fee / application fee: To be ascertained from the respective pharmacy council web portals of respective countries along with documentary requirement details.  Frequency of the exams in a year and any requirement for sponsorship from employers for such exams appearance needs to be ascertained from the respective pharmacy councils.

Internship / trainee opportunity: Internship or trainee opportunities for Indian pharmacy students are not automatic licensing routes. They depend on employer, visa and Ministry approval.
